Since 2019, A.L.L. has continued to formalize its operations and secure significant advancements for its members and the broader legal aid system.
  • Organizational Growth (2020–2021): Under the leadership of our first Executive Director, Wayne Robertson, KC, A.L.L. established its committee structure including setting up a variety of volunteer led committees, the Hardship Trust Fund, and provided critical technology support during the pandemic.
  • Negotiation Success (2022): Secured a 13% rate increase over three years, alongside dedicated funding for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and the Articling Grant Program.
  • Strategic Development (2023): Published the organization’s first Strategic Plan to guide future advocacy and service delivery.
  • Family Law Advocacy (2024): Intervened in the Single Mothers case, which resulted in $29 million settlement to enhance family law legal aid coverage.
  • Recent Milestones (2026): Negotiated a 12% tariff increase over four years and secured new funding for bursaries, family law software, and a Parental Leave Program.

A.L.L. gratefully acknowledges the financial support of the Province of British Columbia through the Ministry of Attorney General and Legal Aid BC. We remain committed to working collaboratively to advance access to justice through lawyer recruitment, retention, and policy improvement.
