Announcing the 2026/2027 Articling Grant Program

The first three years of the articling program were successful in:

• increasing access to legal services in regions of BC outside of the Lower Mainland and Victoria; 
• providing practical experience and mentoring in the underserved practice areas of family law and child protection; and,
• recruiting lawyers to legal aid work.

Based on this success, A.L.L. is excited to announce that the Law Foundation has generously funded a third year of this program.

Chris Johnson, KC, 70th Birthday!

We recently gathered to celebrate a major milestone: the 70th birthday of Chris Johnson, KC. It was a fantastic evening of storytelling and solidarity, honoring Chris’s decades of dedication to legal aid and access to justice.

The Results are In: Thanks to your incredible generosity, the unofficial fundraiser raised $2,515. These funds will go directly toward A.L.L.’s advocacy efforts and our mission to protect the right to counsel—causes that have been the heartbeat of Chris’s long career.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended and contributed. It was a great reminder of the strength of our community and the impact we have when we pull together.
